Aragorn’s Andúril is one of the oldest known swords in the middle-earth universe. Elendil possessed this sword long before Aragorn and was defeated by the Sauron. After his untimely demise, the King’s son Isildur managed to get the remnants of the sword and cut the one ring from Sauron’s hand with the very sword. It was found later by Aragorn and the party when visiting Rivendell. During his countless battles, he carried the shards of Narsil that were reforged later becoming the Anduril again. The sword holds great importance in the epic saga that followed.
